List Builders consist of two main types of mailers: Safelists and Viral List Builders.
Safelists
Safelists are a mailing list where all members that have joined can mail each other.
Most safelists are credit based meaning you have to click on the ads that are sent to you, and then you earn credits.
With these credits you are allowed to send to a specific number of members depending on the safelist.
Many safelists also have basic text and banner advertising to get your offers more exposure.
Viral List Builders
Viral List Builders are slightly different from safelists, in that you can only mail a certain amount of random members per week, say 500.
But if you refer any members to the service, then they go under you and you can email them in addition to your allotted amount.
You earn credits for reading emails and also for referring members, and these credits don't just have to be used for mailings, in fact you can get a lot of different advertising, from banner ads, text links, login ads etc. This gives you more opportunities to get your ads seen.
When using any of the available Safelists or Viral List Builders, then you must always track your results to find out what is working best for you.
